In collaboration with Food & Agriculture Organization FAO the University Of Hargeisa carried out a training on capacity building in disaster reduction and early warning systems in Daad-Madheedh region, Oodweyn district from Wednesday 7th March 2018 – Friday 9th March 2018
The objectives of the of the workshop was:
- To design and develop training manual for disaster Risk reduction and early warning systems of Oodweyne, Buro and Ainabo Districts.
- To improve capacities and a sound knowledge Management System established for Disaster Risk Management
- Train NGOs, CBOs and Communities on flood and drought risk reduction, preparedness and mitigation
- Conduct Training awareness campaign workshops on climate related Disasters for the three Districts (Oodweyne, Buro and Ainabo)
- Raise public awareness on potential disaster risk among the vulnerable communities in the area.
