Students from the Department of Agriculture at the University of Hargeisa completed a five-day workshop

The students from the Department of Agriculture at the University of Hargeisa completed a five-day workshop co-organized by the Somaliland Biodiversity Foundation and the University of Hargeisa. The workshop, titled “Basic Arthropod Collection, Identification and Curation with a Focus on Insects” was offered by Dr. Tharina Bird, Curator of General Entomology at the Ditsong National Museum of Natural History in South Africa.
The closing event, held in the University Senate Hall, was attended by Dr. Ahmed I. Awale, President of the Somaliland Biodiversity Foundation; Mr. Ibrahim Hersi, Associate Dean of the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine; Mr. Ali Mire, Communications Officer at the University of Hargeisa; and Mr. Faysal Jama, Senior Officer at the Somaliland Biodiversity Foundation. At the conclusion of the event, students were presented with certificates of completion. Additionally, the specimens collected during the workshop have been deposited in the Biodiversity Museum at the University of Hargeisa for future reference.
