The College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Hargeisa is seeking a qualified and dedicated individual to fill the position of Lecturer in Refraction within the Department of Optometry and Vision Science.

Job Title: Lecturer in Refraction

Department: Optometry and Vision Science

Employment Type: [part-time]

Location: University of Hargeisa

Key Responsibilities

· Teach the Refraction course to Bachelor of Optometry students, including both theoretical and practical components.

· Develop and deliver course materials aligned with the curriculum.

· Supervise clinical training sessions, ensuring students gain hands-on experience.

· Assess and evaluate student performance through exams, assignments, and clinical evaluations.

· Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development.

· Engage in academic advising and mentorship of students.

Qualifications and Requirements

· A Master’s Degree in Optometry or related field.

· Proven expertise in refraction and management of refractive errors.

· Prior teaching experience in a university or clinical setting is an asset.

· Strong communication and organizational skills.

· Commitment to fostering a positive and productive learning environment.
