The President of the Republic of Somaliland attended the graduation ceremony for the 21st batch
The President of the Republic of Somaliland attended the graduation ceremony for the 21st batch of students from the University of Hargeisa today. Held at the university’s graduation site, the event was graced by numerous distinguished guests, including the Minister of Education, the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Minister of Information and Technology, The Governor of Marodi-Jeh Region, the Mayor of Hargeisa City, The Manager of Civil Aviation and Airports Authority, the Chairman of the Board of Higher Education, the Chairman of the University Board, the Chief of Police, the Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank, and Prof. Ahmed Ismail Samater, among others.
]The ceremony also saw the presence of the university’s top management, including the acting president, deans, directors, faculty members, and the parents of the graduating students. A total of 1,433 students graduated today, with degrees ranging from undergraduate to master’s. Master’s degree candidates completed a two-year program, while undergraduate students took between four to seven years, depending on their field of study.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, President Muse Bihi presented a special award to the Hargeisa Local Government, led by the Mayor of Hargeisa, in recognition of their financial support for the construction of a new library for the university, a project valued at approximately 1 million dollars. The President has today officially opened the new library built for the University. Additionally, President Bihi awarded certificates to the honor students from various faculties.
These graduates have acquired both knowledge and character during their time at the University of Hargeisa.
