The University of Hrageisa Board of trustees is the governing body of the institution. The board is seven member body, appointed in every four years by the president of the country, who, in other terms the first chancellor of the University.
The Board, as a collective body, hold the authority and responsibility to ensure the fulfillment of an University's mission and strategic goals. They are also responsible for the fiscal health of the university. The board of trustee’s governing role is not only limited to the selection of the president and his vice presidents but also has the approval of University’s policies. The authority of the Board is clearly written on the University charter.

Main duties of the University Board of trustees include

  • Appoint the President of the University.
  • Approve the appointments of the Vice Presidents of the University, taking into account the recommendations of the President and the University Senate.
  • Promote the overall fiscal health of the University.
  •   Provide support to the University management in all activities needed for assistance.
  • Assist the University in the connection of government agencies, international community and local society
  • Approve the overall policies of the Universityy
