Our Vision
Our Mission
Background
The College of Business and Public Administration is one of the first starters at this university. Due to its long existence compared to other colleges and schools, it became one of the the largest at the University of Hargeisa in terms of students and academia.
The college aims at bringing remedies that can offset the setbacks in the community by designing and delivering a quality education that fulfills the demands of the business and public organizations and society, at large and responds to the drastically increasing needs of society for knowledge and practices of business and public administration.
Currently, the College consists of three faculties namely as
- Faculty of Accounting
- Faculty of Management
- Faculty of Public Administration
- Faculty of Marketing
Across industries and regions, the demand for qualified accountants continues to grow. After all, accounting is the language of business. Accountants play a critical role in the business world – they are responsible for analyzing, collecting, compiling, preparing, reporting and evaluating financial data and records. From monitoring budgets and spending to financial analysis and forecasting, accountants provide a breadth of knowledge and expertise to help businesses succeed. Here at University of Hargeisa, College of Business and Public Administration offers you the best place to not only study accounting but to grow as a professional accountant.
In this 4-years Bachelor of Accounting, the students will be provided a strong business education foundation and a path for success in today’s data-driven business world. The program’s rigorous curriculum allows students to develop interpersonal, teamwork and problem-solving skills, while also teaching them how to successfully apply technology and data analytics in the field of accounting.

Our Bachelor of Management prepares graduates for a variety of management positions in businesses, institutions, government, and other organizations. The program provides future managers with the tools to plan, organize, lead, and evaluate an organization’s activities, as well manage resources, identify and solve problems, work with others, understand markets and advertising, and collect and analyze data.

Our Bachelor of Marketing is a hands-on program that teaches you the skills and strategies to help identify customers’ needs and wants, study the challenges facing marketers in the global business environment, and develop the critical thinking skills needed to be successful. Courses cover personal selling, advertising, sales promotions, consumer behavior, marketing research, internet marketing, ethics, strategic marketing, and more.
The core courses in this program will teach you how to create value through brand management, service and relationship management, and digital and market research strategy. You’ll also gain insight into how advertising management operates in the context of artificial intelligence, ethics and micro-targeting.
Studying this major will prepare you to work in a huge range of marketing teams in industries including tourism, arts and entertainment, sales and retail, and not-for-profit agencies.

Also, our public administration students gain practical skills in budget analysis, public policy analysis, and public planning. The coursework and assignments also emphasize soft skills such as communication and collaboration. These skills serve public administrators in several roles. Successful completion of UoH’s BPA program can prepare you for good-level positions in government agencies and nonprofit organizations.
