The Faculty of Business Administration, under the College of Business, Economics and Statistics at the University of Hargeisa, successfully hosted a guest lecture titled “Auditing Oversight in Action: Experiences and Insights from the National Audit Office of Somaliland.” The session was delivered by Mrs. Firiad Abdullahi Hassan, Director of the Central Government Department at the National Audit Office of Somaliland, who shared practical experiences and professional insights on public sector auditing, accountability, transparency, and the vital role of audit institutions in strengthening good governance and effective public financial management.

The event was officially opened by Dr. Fuad Abdi Obsiye, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, who highlighted the University’s commitment to connecting academic learning with real-world professional practice through guest lectures and industry engagement. Dr. Fekadu Y. Maru, Dean of the College of Business, Economics, and Statistics, reaffirmed the College’s dedication to fostering strong partnerships with government and professional institutions to enhance students’ practical competencies. The lecture brought together professionals, academic staff, and students, providing an engaging platform for knowledge exchange, professional dialogue, and a deeper understanding of auditing practices within Somaliland’s public sector.
