Background

The College of Education and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Hargeisa is committed to preparing skilled educators and advancing knowledge in the fields of teaching, learning, and behavioral studies. The college plays a vital role in shaping the future of education in Somaliland by equipping students with the pedagogical, psychological, and technological competencies required to foster inclusive, innovative, and effective learning environments. With a curriculum grounded in both theory and practical application, the college cultivates reflective professionals capable of leading change in schools, communities, and educational institutions.

The college comprises two faculties:

  • Faculty of Education
  • Faculty of Distance Learning

Together, these faculties provide a comprehensive approach to teacher preparation and educational delivery, supporting both traditional classroom instruction and technology-enabled remote learning. The college also leads key initiatives such as in-service teacher training and curriculum development aligned with national education goals.
