The College of Agriculture, Veterinary, and Environmental Studies is committed to providing high-quality education, applied research, and community engagement to address the critical challenges of food security, animal health, and environmental sustainability. Through practical training and scientific innovation, the college prepares skilled graduates who can lead transformative change and promote sustainable development in Somaliland and the Horn of Africa.

Background

The College of Agriculture, Veterinary, and Environment at the University of Hargeisa is a cornerstone of national development, committed to advancing sustainable food systems, animal health, and environmental protection. The college integrates scientific research, field practice, and community engagement to address the pressing challenges of food security, livestock productivity, and environmental degradation in Somaliland and the Horn of Africa.

The college is composed of Two distinct faculties:

  • Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine
  • Faculty of Environmental Studies

Together, these faculties equip students with the technical knowledge and practical skills needed to improve agricultural output, enhance animal health services, and ensure the sustainable management of natural resources.
