Faculty of Sharia hosts workshop on contemporary teaching methods to strengthen academic excellence

The Faculty of Sharia at the University of Hargeisa recently conducted a successful workshop on Contemporary Teaching Methods, aimed at enhancing the teaching skills of its academic staff. The training brought together faculty members to explore modern, student-centered approaches to classroom instruction, with a focus on innovation and practical application. The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Hamoud Adan and Dr. Abdikarim Mohamed, both senior faculty members at the College of Sharia and Law, whose experience and insight added immense value to the sessions.

Throughout the workshop, participants engaged in dynamic discussions on effective use of technology in education, active learning strategies, and practical assessment tools. The interactive format encouraged knowledge sharing, critical reflection, and collaborative problem-solving. Faculty members expressed great appreciation for the relevance and clarity of the topics presented.

Special thanks go to the deputy dean for the faculty of Sharia and the Acting Dean of the College, Ms. Kaltun Ali Ahmed, for her leadership and continued commitment to faculty development. This training was part of a series conducted across all faculties, as most instructors from the various colleges of the university had already participated in similar sessions. It was intended to enhance the professional capacity of the university’s teaching staff and, more broadly, to raise the overall academic standard of the university.
