University of Hargeisa President, Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Sulub, and the Vice Chancellor of the University of Rwanda, Assoc. Prof. KAYIHURA Muganga Didas, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today, May 22, 2025, in Kigali. This significant agreement aims to foster a long-term partnership built on equality, reciprocity, and mutual respect, enhancing the academic and institutional capacities of both universities while contributing to knowledge advancement and regional development. The MOU establishes a framework for cooperation, promoting academic and scientific exchange, enriching the educational experience for students and faculty, and contributing to research and innovation in areas of mutual interest.
The collaboration outlined in the MOU encompasses various key areas, including faculty and staff exchange for lecturing, research, and professional development; student exchange and mobility programs; joint research activities; curriculum development and program collaboration; and the sharing of academic resources. Both institutions will also explore joint cultural and educational events, capacity-building initiatives, and collaborative efforts in identifying and implementing joint projects, including seeking external funding. This five-year agreement, effective from today, signifies a commitment to mutual growth and academic excellence between the University of Hargeisa and the University of Rwanda.
