𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗶𝘀𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆

The National Institute for Climate Change and Environmental Resilience (NICCER) at the University of Hargeisa conducted a two-day research training for Berbera Maritime and Fisheries University (BMFU). The training focused on strengthening research capacity, developing skills in preparing and co-writing research grant proposals, enhancing research publication skills for international journals, and strengthening research and academic collaboration between the two universities. The training was part of the implementation of the existing cooperation agreement between the two universities, which aims to strengthen collaboration in research, joint grant proposal development, and academic capacity building. The session was attended by BMFU President Eng. Abdiqadir Hussein, Director of the Research Center Mohamud Ahmed, and 20 faculty members from BMFU.

Representing the University of Hargeisa, the training was led by Dr. Mohamed Abdullahi Omar, Director of the National Institute for Climate Change and Environmental Resilience (NICCER), and Dr. Ahmed Ismail Mohamed, a Researcher and Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Hargeisa. At the conclusion of the training, the two universities agreed to jointly develop four research studies within three months focusing on Marine and Fisheries Sciences, with the aim of submitting them for publication in leading international peer-reviewed journals.
