The Higher Education Commission of Somaliland conducted a comprehensive inspection at the University of Hargeisa to evaluate the implementation of the Foundation Year program and the overall academic standards of the institution. The visit focused on reviewing the curriculum, teaching methodologies, assessment systems, and compliance with national higher education regulations.

During the visit, the Commission delegation held a high-level meeting with the university’s senior leadership, led by Dr. Fuad Abdi Obsiye, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Acting President of the University. Detailed presentations were delivered outlining the structure, objectives, and academic impact of the Foundation Year program, highlighting its role in strengthening students’ academic readiness.

Following thorough discussions and review, the Higher Education Commission officially confirmed that the University of Hargeisa successfully implemented the Foundation Year program at 100%. This achievement reflects the university’s strong governance, academic commitment, and continuous dedication to enhancing the quality of higher education in Somaliland.
