The University of Hargeisa participated in the Validation Workshop for the Tourism and Hospitality Management Policy organized by the Ministry of Trade and Tourism of the Republic of Somaliland. Representing the University, Mr. Ahmed Yuusuf Goolcade, Public Relations Manager, Dr. Fekadu Y. Maru, Dean of the College of Business, Economics and Statistics, and Mrs. Jamila Abdi Elmi, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, actively contributed to the discussions and provided valuable feedback and recommendations to strengthen the quality, relevance, and implementation framework of the proposed policy.

The workshop served as an important platform for dialogue on tourism and hospitality education, workforce development, and sustainable tourism practices in Somaliland. It also highlighted the importance of collaboration among government institutions, higher education institutions, and the private sector to ensure the successful implementation of the policy. The University of Hargeisa remains committed to supporting national development initiatives and advancing Somaliland’s tourism and hospitality sector through education, research, community engagement, and strategic partnerships.
