A senior delegation from the University of Hargeisa (UoH) is in Cape Town, South Africa, participating in the All-Africa Higher Education XChange 2026, following an invitation from the University of Cape Town (UCT). The continental higher education gathering is organized by AppliedHE and brings together university leaders, policymakers, and higher education stakeholders from across Africa.

Held under the theme “Launching a New Era for African Higher Education,” the XChange provides a platform for discussions on developing an Africa-focused approach to university rankings—one that more accurately reflects the diversity, institutional contexts, priorities, contributions, and societal impact of African higher education institutions.

The University of Hargeisa is represented by a senior delegation comprising Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Sulub, President; Dr. Khalid Ahmed Abdi, Deputy President for Research, Innovation and Partnerships; Dr. Abdirashid Yusuf Gahnug, Director of Quality Assurance and Institutional Transformation; and Mr. Abdiqathar Rashid Kulmie, Coordinator of External Relations and Partnerships.

UoH’s participation reflects the University’s continued commitment to strengthening international engagement, advancing institutional quality and visibility, and contributing to continental conversations shaping the future of higher education in Africa.
