Brief Training Titled “Stories That Heal – Conversational Casework Through Storytelling” Held at the University of Hargeisa

The College of Social and Human Sciences at the University of Hargeisa organized a one-day training titled “Stories That Heal – Conversational Casework Through Storytelling,” which took place yesterday, 11 November 2025, at the University of Hargeisa.

The training was officially opened by the Dean of the College of Social and Human Sciences, Mr. Mukhtar Mohamed Abi, who highlighted the importance of storytelling in social work—particularly in building trust, showing empathy, and understanding the situations people face.

The session was facilitated by Ms. Muna Dirie, an expert in social work and storytelling-based training. She guided participants in developing practical skills related to empathy, case assessment, and moral storytelling.

The training benefited final-year students from the Department of Social Work and Community Development, who gained knowledge on how storytelling can be used in casework and in strengthening human relationships.
