The University of Hargeisa, particularly its College of Education and Behavioural Sciences, held a graduation ceremony for in-service teachers working in early childhood learning centers and primary schools in the Saaxil region, who completed the Early Childhood Education (ECE) program. The ceremony was well-organised and celebrated the teachers’ professional development and achievements.

The event took place in Berbera, Saaxil region, at Alloore Hotel, and was attended by university officials, education leaders, and other distinguished guests. Participants emphasized the importance of strengthening teacher capacity at the foundational education level to build a strong and sustainable education system.

The ECE program primarily benefited teachers working in primary schools across the Sahil Region. It was implemented through a collaboration between the Faculty of Education at the University of Hargeisa, the Pharo Foundation, and the Ministry of Education of Somaliland. The program aims to enhance the quality of early childhood education and strengthen teachers’ skills to ensure effective and sustainable learning outcomes for young children.
