University of Hargeisa Launched REDCap & Data Management Training

The University of Hargeisa has launched a four-day intensive training on REDCap and data management systems, taking place from 4th to 7th May 2026. The training brings together academic and administrative staff to strengthen institutional capacity in high-quality data collection, management, and research systems, reinforcing the universityโ€™s commitment to evidence-based decision-making.

The program focuses on the practical use of REDCap as a powerful platform to enhance data quality and accuracy, enable real-time data capture and monitoring, and ensure data security and confidentiality. It also promotes the standardization of data collection tools and improves overall data management and analysis readiness, supporting both academic research and administrative efficiency.

Adopting a Training of Trainers (ToT) approach, the initiative empowers participants to cascade knowledge across the institution, ensuring sustainability and long-term impact. The training is implemented under the BSU IV Programme in collaboration with a Danish university consortium, and is facilitated by distinguished experts: Prof. Vibeke Rasch from the University of Southern Denmark, Frank Sjรธberg Kjeldsen from OPEN Denmark, and Allan Lind-Thomsen from OPEN Denmark. Their international expertise in research data management and digital systems adds significant value to the program and supports the University of Hargeisaโ€™s pursuit of research excellence.
