On Monday, 3 August 2026, the University of Hargeisa officially launched the English Mastery Program (EMAP) during a ceremony held at the IPCS Hall. The event was attended by the President of the University of Hargeisa, members of the University’s senior management, lecturers from the Faculty of Education, students and graduates of the University of Hargeisa, university staff, and other distinguished guests.

The program was officially inaugurated by the President of the University of Hargeisa, Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Sulub, who emphasized the importance of English language proficiency in promoting academic excellence, expanding career opportunities, and preparing graduates to succeed in an increasingly competitive global environment. He reaffirmed the University’s commitment to providing high-quality educational opportunities that equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for their future.

EMAP is a structured five-level English language program designed to strengthen learners’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Using the internationally recognized Speak Your Mind learning materials, the program will help students develop the confidence and communication skills required for academic success and future professional opportunities.
