Dr. Fuad Abdi Obsiye, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs at the University of Hargeisa, Dr. Fekadu Y. Maru, Dean of the College of Business, Economics and Statistics, and Mr. Zakeria Eid Ismail, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Islamic Banking, represented the University of Hargeisa at the 2026 Somaliland Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and Cooperatives Development Forum, organized by the Ministry of Trade and Tourism, Somaliland.
Held under the theme, “Strengthening Access to Finance for MSMEs and Cooperatives: Promoting Business Growth and Inclusive Economic Development,” the forum brought together key stakeholders to discuss challenges, opportunities, and practical approaches related to access to finance, entrepreneurship, business growth, cooperative development, and inclusive economic development.
The University of Hargeisa remains committed to supporting MSME and entrepreneurship development, strengthening collaboration with government and industry partners, and equipping students and graduates with the practical knowledge, skills, and competencies required to establish, manage, and grow sustainable businesses that contribute to economic development and job creation.
