University of Hargeisa Strengthens Digital Learning Collaboration with Open University of Kenya

The University of Hargeisa delegation paid a visit to the Open University of Kenya as part of its ongoing institutional engagement and benchmarking efforts aimed at strengthening partnerships and advancing higher education. The delegation was warmly received by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Carolyne Omulando, alongside senior leadership including directors from Quality Assurance, Communications, Library, and ICT. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Elijah, later joined the meeting, further enriching the dialogue and exchange.

During the visit, the Open University of Kenyaโ€”recognized as a fully online institution serving over 25,000 studentsโ€”showcased its state-of-the-art digital systems and innovative model for delivering accessible and flexible higher education. Discussions focused on sharing experiences and best practices in key areas such as online learning, digital infrastructure, quality assurance, and student support services.

The University of Hargeisa expressed its appreciation for the valuable exchange and reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration in digital education. The visit marks an important step toward exploring joint initiatives that enhance access to quality learning and support the continued transformation of higher education through technology.
