The 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 (𝗕𝗘𝗦𝗧) at the University of Hargeisa has successfully concluded the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 (𝗦𝗜𝗬𝗕) Training of Potential Entrepreneurs (ToPE), held from 3–8 October 2026. The programme focused on two key training packages, Generate Your Business Idea (GYBI) and Start Your Business (SYB), equipping aspiring entrepreneurs with practical skills to identify business opportunities, develop viable business ideas, and establish sustainable enterprises.

During the closing ceremony, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗯𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗱 𝗜𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱, Vice President for Administration and Development, emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship training in promoting innovation, youth empowerment, and job creation. 𝗗𝗿. 𝗙𝗲𝗸𝗮𝗱𝘂 𝗬. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘂, Dean of BEST, congratulated the participants and encouraged them to apply their newly acquired skills to establish sustainable businesses. He also expressed appreciation to the University management, master trainers, trainers, and all contributors. 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗺𝘂𝗱 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗮 𝗔𝗹𝗶, Vice Chairman of the Somaliland Quality Control Commission, highlighted the role of standardized entrepreneurship training in strengthening business capacity and supporting sustainable economic development in Somaliland.

The ceremony concluded with the 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 to participants who successfully completed the training, alongside recognition of individuals who contributed to the programme’s success. Through initiatives such as ILO–SIYB, the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗶𝘀𝗮 reaffirms its commitment to entrepreneurship education, innovation, youth empowerment, and sustainable economic growth.
