The University of Hargeisa—specifically the College of Agriculture, Animal Science, and Environment—together with the Energy Talk Initiative, organized an important scientific debate focused on “The Role of Solar Energy in Advancing Agriculture in Somaliland.” The objective of the discussion was to explore how clean solar energy can serve as a key tool for improving agricultural production and enhancing the livelihoods of farmers across the country.
The debate was officially opened by the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Animal Science, and Environment, Dr. Abdirisak Dahir Awale, who emphasized that solar energy offers a major opportunity to reduce energy costs and promote sustainable agriculture built on modern technologies. He noted that the University of Hargeisa will continue its role in research and awareness-raising on the use of clean energy.
