The World Food Programme (WFP), in collaboration with the University of Hargeisa, has officially launched a two-day training program for 30 graduates from the University of Hargeisa. The training is designed to prepare the participants to serve as Enumerators who will contribute to the implementation of the “Vulnerability Based Targeting Rollout” program an initiative aimed at identifying vulnerable communities to ensure accurate and effective humanitarian assistance.
The training was officially inaugurated by the Vice President for Administration and Finance of the University of Hargeisa, Abdirashid Ismail Mohamed, who encouraged the graduates to make the most of this valuable opportunity. He emphasized that data collection skills play a vital role in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of development projects, while also creating employment and professional growth opportunities for young graduates.
The participants were selected from the faculties of Business, Economics, Statistics, Nutrition, and Food Science, all of whom graduated from the University of Hargeisa within the past two years. The training is expected to strengthen the participants’ academic and professional capacities while further enhancing collaboration between the University of Hargeisa and international organizations, particularly in the areas of research, data collection, and community development.
