A delegation led by Dr. Abdirashid Ismail, Vice President for Administration and Finance at the University of Hargeisa, recently visited the University of Nairobi as part of the Global Health Workforce Programme – Phase Two, funded by the UK Department of Health and Social Care through Global Health Partnerships.
The delegation paid a courtesy call to Prof. Francis Mulaa, the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research, Innovation, and Enterprise at the University of Nairobi. Discussions focused on enhancing ongoing collaboration, exploring joint research opportunities, and identifying innovative ways to advance healthcare education and quality education across both institutions. The University of Hargeisa was also joined by a representative from the Ministry of Health, Somaliland (MoHD), who emphasized the importance of aligning academic programs with national health strategies.
This collaboration is a significant step toward empowering healthcare professionals and fostering sustainable health system development in Somaliland and the region. We look forward to continued partnership and impactful outcomes.
