The Faculty of Computing and IT at the University of Hargeisa delivers cutting-edge education in computer systems, software development, and digital infrastructure. The faculty offers two specialized undergraduate degree programs designed to meet the increasing demand for skilled ICT professionals:

  • Computer Science 
  • Information Technology

 

Programs Overview:

 

1. Computer Science 

The Computer Science program focuses on the theory, design, and development of software, algorithms, and computing systems. The curriculum covers programming, data structures, software engineering, databases, networking, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. Students gain hands-on experience through labs, projects, and real-world applications, preparing them to solve complex computational problems and develop innovative software solutions across industries.

2. Information Technology

The Information Technology program focuses on the development, implementation, and management of IT systems within organizations. Core areas include programming, networking, cybersecurity, web development, database systems, and IT project management. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for versatile roles in today’s digital workplaces, with an emphasis on problem-solving, innovation, and secure IT infrastructure management.
