The University of Hargeisa participated in a high-level meeting organized by the Ministry of Water Development of Somaliland, bringing together university leaders and ministry officials to strengthen collaboration in research, innovation, and sustainable water resources development.

During the meeting, participants discussed the importance of establishing long-term cooperation between the Ministry and universities to advance research, support evidence-based policymaking, and enhance institutional capacity in the water sector. Key areas of discussion included the development of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the establishment of a joint technical committee, and expanding opportunities for staff capacity building and student internships.

The University of Hargeisa reaffirmed its commitment to supporting national development through academic research, innovation, and strategic partnerships aimed at improving water resource management and promoting sustainable solutions for Somaliland’s future.
