The University of Hargeisa, specifically the College of Engineering, Computing & ICT, hosted an important academic lecture at the university’s IPCS Hall. This session focused deeply on integrating solar power into modern energy systems, highlighting existing challenges and exploring innovative solutions.
The session was officially opened by Eng. Abdiqani Qorane, the Deputy Dean of the Engineering Department, who warmly welcomed both guests and students, emphasising the crucial role renewable energy plays in the development of the country.
The welcoming remarks were delivered by Eng. Awil Ahmed Mohamed, the Dean of the College of Engineering, Computing and IT, who noted that such academic engagements enhance the skills, understanding, and motivation of students.
The lecture was delivered by Eng. Mohamed Mohamoud Dahir, an expert in solar energy and a proud alumnus of the University of Hargeisa. Eng. Mohamed shared valuable insights and practical experiences related to the implementation of solar energy, the technical challenges involved, and the opportunities for innovation both within Somaliland and globally.
