We are proud to celebrate the successful conclusion of the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) in NGOs training, a dynamic collaboration between Hargeisa University and ACTED NGO held from 7th to 10th May 2025 (1 day induction training plus 3 days practical field work), with an additional session for field data cleaning and analysis on 17th June. The program blended theoretical knowledge with real-world field exercises, covering MEAL processes, humanitarian principles, data collection tools, and specialized methodologies like Climate and Green Programming, including the global THRIVE approach. The fourth-year students from faculty of agriculture who participated in this training, gained additional experience in the process of collecting and analyzing environmental data.
The certificate completion event was graced by distinguished guests, including Dr. Abdurazak Tahir, Dean of the College of Agriculture, Veterinary, and Environmental Sciences, Dr. Fuad Obsiye, Vice President for Academic and Research and Mr. Aiderous Abdi, Somaliland area Coordinator-Acted, who commended the participants for their commitment to advancing humanitarian and development work. Their presence underscored the university’s dedication to fostering partnerships that enhance professional skills and community impact. Special congratulations to all trainees and we extend our deepest gratitude to Christian Eboh (Country MEAL Manager, ACTED) and Margot Charles (Country Director in Somaliland, Somalia and Kenya, ACTED) for their leadership, and we look forward to more transformative initiatives in the future.
