A grand ceremony was held today at the graduation square of the University of Hargeisa, where 1,355 students graduated, including 652 males and 703 females. The ceremony, which was large in scale, was attended by many dignitaries representing different sectors of society, including the Government, Legislature, Judiciary, Justice, Business Community, Civil Society Organizations, International Agencies, and partner Universities. Also present were the senior management of the University, as well as the proud parents and families of the graduates.
This 22nd graduation ceremony of the University of Hargeisa was officially opened by the Chairman of the University, Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Sulub, who delivered remarks about the University of Hargeisa, its rich history, and its vision for the future. Other leaders who addressed the gathering included the Chairman of the University Board, Dr. Saad Ali Shire; the Chairman of the National Higher Education Commission, Prof. Hassan Omar Halas; the Minister of Presidency, Hon. Khadar Hussein Abdi; the Minister of Education, Prof. Ismail Duale Yusuf; the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Prof. Yasin Mohamoud Hiir (Faratoon); and the President of the Republic of Somaliland, Dr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Cirro), who officially closed the ceremony. In his speech, the President congratulated all the graduates and gave them valuable advice on how to use the knowledge they acquired to benefit themselves, their families, and their nation.
The ceremony concluded beautifully in a joyous and celebratory atmosphere.
