The University of Hargeisa is participating in a two-day training workshop on the Somaliland Higher Education Management Information System (SLHEMIS), officially opened by Prof. Hassan Omer Hallas, Chairman of the Somaliland Higher Education Commission. The opening session was attended by Dr. Fuad Abdi Obsiye, Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Hargeisa. Representing the University in the training are Khalid Idan from the ICT Development Directorate and Shirwac Yusuf from the Office of the Registrar.

The training, organized by the Somaliland Higher Education Commission, focuses on strengthening the management, storage, and accuracy of student data, including records of enrolled, incoming, and graduating students across higher education institutions. The program aims to enhance data quality, accountability, and evidence-based decision-making within the higher education sector. This workshop marks the third phase of the SLHEMIS capacity-building initiative, following the successful completion of similar trainings for universities in the eastern and western regions of Somaliland.
