The University of Hargeisa, represented by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗯𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗸 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗯𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗵𝗶, Dean of the College of Engineering, Computing and IT, participated in the 𝗤𝟯 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 (𝗘𝗦𝗪𝗚) 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴, organized by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals on 12 October 2026 at Mansoor Hotel, Hargeisa.

During the opening session, Dr. Abdirisak delivered remarks highlighting the importance of evidence-based planning, technical capacity development, and institutional collaboration in advancing Somaliland’s energy sector. He emphasized the University of Hargeisa’s vital role in addressing national energy challenges through 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵, 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴.

The meeting brought together representatives from government institutions, electricity service providers, development partners, and educational institutions to review sectoral progress, discuss key challenges, and identify priorities for strengthening Somaliland’s energy sector.
