The University of Hargeisa participated in the graduation ceremony of 191 accounting professionals who officially completed the CATT and CAF certifications offered by the Institute of Chartered Public Accountants of Somaliland (ICPAS). This event marked a significant and historic milestone in strengthening the professional standards of accounting in the country. The University extends its sincere appreciation to Dr. Saed Sulub, CEO of ICPAS, as well as to the senior management and valued lecturers of the institute, for the warm welcome and special recognition extended to the University during the ceremony.
ICPAS, ICPAR (based in Rwanda), and the University of Hargeisa will collaborate to launch the first CPA (Certified Public Accountant) program in Somaliland, which is an ambitious and strategic step toward developing internationally recognized accounting professionals in the country. The University is prepared to be accredited exam center for the CPA examinations, continuing its tradition of supporting prestigious international certifications such as CIPFA, ACCA, and CCNA.
In recognition of the University of Hargeisa’s vital role in advancing professional development, ICPAS and ICPAR of Rwanda jointly awarded the University a Certificate of Appreciation for its continued efforts in promoting professional excellence in Somaliland. Attending the ceremony on behalf of the University were Dr. Fuad Obsiye – Vice President for Academic and Research; Mr. Ali Mire – Director of Communication, Media, and Marketing; Dr. Soheir Hassan – Director of the School of Graduate Studies; and Mr. Awil Ahmed – Director of ICT Development at the University.
