The University of Hargeisa Launches Two Key Training Programs in Collaboration with GHP and the Ministry of Health Development

The University of Hargeisa has launched two important training programs in partnership with Global Health Partnerships (GHP) and the Ministry of Health Development of Somaliland (MoHD). The first program, Basic Emergency Training, focuses on strengthening the capacity of healthcare professionals to effectively respond to emergency situations. The second program, Qualitative Research Training, builds upon the earlier Quantitative Research Training, further enhancing participants’ research skills and supporting the university’s mission to promote an evidence-based research culture and practice.

The opening ceremony was officially inaugurated by Dr. Fu’ad Obsiiye, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Khalid Ahmed Abdi, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Partnerships. The University of Hargeisa extends its sincere appreciation to GHP and MoHD for their continued collaboration and support in implementing these programs. Together, they are committed to strengthening the capacity of Somaliland’s healthcare workforce to meet international standards, while fostering skills, knowledge, and confidence to deliver quality healthcare services. Such partnerships play a crucial role in helping the University of Hargeisa build a resilient and professional health system that contributes to sustainable development and improved health outcomes for the people of Somaliland.
