The Faculty of Economics and Islamic Banking at the University of Hargeisa hosted a distinguished guest lecture titled “The Role of Commercial Banks in Economic Development in Somaliland.” The lecture was delivered by Mr. Khalif Sheikh Omar, Chairman of the Somaliland Banking Association, who shared valuable insights into the critical role commercial banks play in promoting economic growth, mobilizing savings, facilitating investment, expanding financial inclusion, and supporting sustainable development across Somaliland. The session attracted faculty leadership, academic staff, and students, creating an interactive platform for learning and professional exchange.
