The University of Hargeisa took part in the official opening of the BSU-IV Programme Meeting held on 21st April 2026 in Zanzibar, bringing together global partners to strengthen North-South and South-South collaboration in higher education. The meeting convened key stakeholders including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Danida Fellowship Centre, and leading northern partner universities such as the University of Copenhagen, Aarhus University, Roskilde University, University of Southern Denmark, and Aalborg University, alongside southern institutions including the State University of Zanzibar and Gulu University.
Discussions focused on the progress of the BSU-IV programme, future directions of upcoming BSU initiatives, and reflections on the journey of the Building Stronger Universities (BSU) programme since its launch in 2009. Partners shared key achievements and highlighted the long-term impact of institutional collaboration. As the youngest member of the BSU network, having joined during BSU-IV, the University of Hargeisa reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening global partnerships that promote academic excellence, research collaboration, and sustainable institutional development.
